About me

In 1990 I discovered a student pottery coop in our neighborhood and my passion for pottery was born. Although my education is in music (I have a bachelors and masters degree in piano performance from Northwestern University), I have taken many workshops in ceramics, from Cleveland Institute of Art, and from Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, (where my teachers have been Eddie Dominguez, Val Cushing, Linda Arbuckle and Matthias Ostermann) among others. In 1995 I gave up my job teaching musicianship at Oberlin Conservatory in order to devote more time to my two loves: teaching piano to children and making pottery.

My work can be found in Ginko Gallery in Oberlin, Ohio, Long River Gallery in White River Junction, Vt, and in Etsy.com: Etsy.com/shop/SharonMirandaPottery.
During the summer months my pottery is also available in my own gallery on Goose Pond Road in Canaan, NH.
